Clean out your garages, basements or sheds and find buyers for the VW parts & stuff that you’ve accumulated over the years. Looking to get an early start on your Spring project? Find the parts you need. Have some cool toys and/or memorabilia that you’d like to sell? This is the place to do it. Are you looking to expand your toy and memorabilia collection? There will be sale items for you as well.
Members of the area VW clubs are invited, as well as local VW parts vendors. You do not need to be a NIVA member to swap, shop or sell. ALL VW enthusiasts are welcome. There is plenty of room for participants and there are a few fast-food restaurants nearby. This is our 12th year at the fairgrounds and we are looking forward to another excellent turnout.
Please bring tables and chairs if you need them.

Membership meeting to discuss the 2018 Festival

We will meet in the upstairs area where we have met before. We will be discussing Sponsorship updates, Volunteer updates, as well as getting your comments and suggestions to make this the best Festival ever.
We will also be updating everyone on other upcoming events. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. Lunch will be provided by the Washtenaw County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

In keeping with the spirit of “The Blessing of the Bikes” typically reserved for our Hell’s Yuppies Friends, please join us for The Blessing of the Buses! Particulars: Open to all VW Bus Owners across all generations and types of Bus, this is a rain or shine event with a covered cookout to immediately follow. A donation to the Church is suggested, but optional. For those of who may wish to camp, group of contiguous campsites will be reserved at Groveland Oaks County, about 15 minutes/nine miles from the Church. Slow Speed Slalom Event
To be Determined; More to come on locations.
We will have a Slow Speed Slalom set up. We will have fun on a small timed course of cones that will average around 30mph and will show our driving skills, and will be a lot of fun for all. There will be a food vendor to provide a source for lunch. This year we are also planning on having a Port-a-Potty on site.
After we have gotten the thrill of driving our fine German machines around the course we will return to the Hotel for a Pizza Party and Movie night

Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Festival

The Festival is set for May 19 - 20, 2018, Y Riverside Park, Ypsilanti. As you can see this year we will be having a two day Festival, Saturday will be a slow slalom as we did last year, then we will return to Hotel for a Pizza Party and movie night.

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear returns to the Motor City June 1-3, 2018. The event will feature the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the high-flying trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks and the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli. The weekend collectively is referred to as the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear and it will feature the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit IndyCar doubleheader.

|In conjunction with the 60th Annual Bavarian Festival, they are going to close the main street in Frankenmuth on June 8th (Friday) from 4 to 10 pm. The owner of Zehnder’s wants to line up vintage German cars in front of the restaurant on Main St. In return, they will give us a free Zehnder’s chicken dinner. There will be press and TV coverage, so Zehnder’s would like us to come up with as many cars as we can.|
|06/09/2018||Northern Mitt VDub Club 6th Annual Blessing of the Bugs VW Car Show & Cruise 9am-2pm||Manistee National Golf & Resort 4797 US 31 South Manistee, MI||The Northern Mitt V-Dub Club will celebrate its 6th Annual “Blessing of the Bugs” on Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at a new location - Manistee National Golf & Resort in Manistee, MI. All VWs are welcome! Registration starts at 9am. $5 registration fee per vehicle the day of the show, no pre-registration required. Spectators are free. Awards will be presented to Best Modified, Best Stock, Top 20 Show Favorite Vehicles, and People’s Choice sponsored by Hagerty of Traverse City, MI. Fun for all ages in a family friendly atmosphere including food, games, and a silent auction. The day concludes with a “Blessing” for a safe and enjoyable cruising season followed by a 5 mile cruise to the shores of Lake Michigan for a group photo.|

WILLOW RUN VICTORY CAR SHOW
Yankee Air Museum, 47884 D Street, Willow Run Airport, Belleville, MI 48111 on the grass lot behind the museum.
Registration begins at 9AM. On-site registration only. $20.00 per car registered. The first 250 cars registered will get a goodie bag and dash plaque. Judging begins at 10AM and awards given at 2:45PM Event ends at 3PM. The Yankee Air Museum will be open with free admission for all participants. Biplane rides will be sold (weather permitting) and there will be plenty of activities. Food trucks have been invited and Marco’s Pizza will be selling pizza by the slice. Net event proceeds benefit the Yankee Air Museum. Great prizes for award winners to go to Thunder Over Michigan on August 21.

Waterford Hills is on the grounds of the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club. Turn into the parking lot, head towards the back of the grounds, pay $5 at the gate, and ask them to point you towards The Hill.
Line up as many vintage VWs as we can on The Hill, hang out, and watch an exciting day of road racing. Then drive your own car in parade laps on the track at lunchtime. Many car clubs have populated The Hill over the years, but this will be the first time the MVVC welcomes vintage VWs.
